GABI ELTE'S PROJECT ON ABU TOR

For Advanced Hebrew class

In our Oral History course, held during the winter semester of 2025, students — guided by their teacher, Tal — explored key oral history projects in Hebrew. These included stories from Jerusalem neighborhoods, Mizrahi family histories, queer Israeli narratives, and testimonies related to the Nakba. Alongside their learning, they engaged in discussions about methodology and ethics in oral history, and shared intergenerational stories passed down to them.

As part of the final assignment, each student conducted an interview in Hebrew, focusing on a personal narrative.

Gabi chose to speak with Moshe Rabi, her landlord in Abu Tor — the same neighborhood where our classes were held.
