About Us
This Is Not an Ulpan is a cooperative-run alternative language school with branches in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem, alongside international online programs. We teach Hebrew and Arabic through critical pedagogy, connecting language learning with culture, politics, creativity, and social justice.
We're looking for a Community & Outreach Manager to become the face of our alternative language school and help grow a vibrant community of Hebrew and Arabic learners committed to social change.
The Role
As Community & Outreach Manager, you'll play a central role in connecting people to This Is Not an Ulpan and helping our community grow. You'll work across strategy and day-to-day operations: building relationships with students, teachers, partners, and organizations; leading outreach efforts; coordinating events and registrations; and ensuring that our programs run smoothly. This is a dynamic role for someone who enjoys working with people, managing multiple projects, and contributing to an organization committed to language learning, social justice, and cooperative values.
Terms Of Employment
* Full-time position
* Hybrid work (home + Tel Aviv office)
* Weekly meetings in Tel Aviv
* Twice-monthly meetings in Jerusalem & Haifa
* Immediate start
We operate under an equal-salary model.
* Cooperative members: ₪11,000
* Non-cooperative employees: ₪9,500
Responsibilities
* Participate in the school's management, planning, and strategy
* Recruit and retain students
* Serve as the main contact for students, teachers, and the cooperative
* Manage course registrations
* Coordinate volunteer hours
* Produce events (Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa & online)
* Build and maintain partnerships with local and international organizations
* Membership in our cooperative (or willingness to join) is a significant advantage.
Requirements
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
* Professional proficiency in English and Hebrew (spoken and written)
* Arabic - a significant advantage
* Experience in project coordination
* Experience with outreach, partnerships, communications, or social media
* Ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively
* Flexibility during semester launches
