Beginner Hebrew
Goals:
To provide a linguistic foundation for a beginning student to express themselves in the language and to understand its basic structures.
To feel good in Hebrew, enjoy the learning process, and build self-confidence and the ability to cope with uncertainty.
Topics:
Basics of print (typing) and cursive writing, pronunciation, gender in Hebrew.
Getting to know each other: questions and answers, emotions, family and friends, café and basic shopping, times of day, daily routine, everyday situations, numbers.
Language Material:
Present tense, infinitives, introduction to the Hebrew verb system (roots).
Personal pronouns, singular/plural, prepositions, inflection of prepositions, conjunctions, adjectives, time expressions.
