About the Event

Right now, Israel-Palestine is in the process of redefining democracy. The extreme right wing government seeks to create a more “balanced” court that will represent its voter-base, as they view the Supreme Court as left wing.

Mainstream center and liberal Israelis view this legislation as the removal of checks and balances from the judicial system, and seek to maintain the status quo - protecting the rights of Jewish-Israeli citizens.

The radical left bloc asks to shine a light on the fact that true democracy - for all - has never truly existed in a system of apartheid and occupation.

In this moment of defining democracy, it’s critical to understand that today in Israel-Palestine, there are completely separate definitions of who is deserving of democracy.

Who stands to gain expanded rights and who stands to lose rights should the legislation pass? Can Palestine ever be freed should the status quo remain the same? Have the cracks in society sent israel down a path of no return?

Join us for a frank and open conversation on what’s happening in Israel-Palestine.
