About the Event
Join us on June 4 in Jerusalem at the Willy Brandt Center for a special screening of Ambulance, a film by Mohamed Jabaly.
This authentic and heartfelt film chronicles Mohamed Jabaly's extraordinary journey as a gifted young filmmaker capturing the essence of Gaza, through his eyes. With empathy, grace, and sincerity, Jabaly recounts the war in Gaza during the summer of 2014. As the impending conflict looms, he secretly joins an ambulance crew, embarking on a quest to find his purpose in a country besieged by Israel. Amidst the plethora of reports documenting the repetitive violence, this film uncovers the hidden and untold stories that mainstream media sought to bury.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in the pressing and difficult realities of life in the Gaza Strip during a brutal 51 day besiegement.
This screening has been made possible by First Hand Films, an award-winning international sales company, producer, and distributor based in Zurich, Switzerland. The film is in Arabic and English and will be shown with English subtitles.
We are honored to be joined by Usama Antar, a resident of Gaza who holds a phD in political science, for a riveting Q&A on life in Gaza in 2023.And for everyone else in the world who can’t get to Jerusalem-AlKuds for the screening, watch the film online on Vimeo on Demand: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/ambulancethefilm
