To vote or not to vote?

The collapse of the "experiment government", a leadership debate framed as "only Bibi" Vs "Just not Bibi" and the disappearance of the Palestinian conflict from public debate - these are some of the reasons many young Israelis are considering not to vote in the upcoming election. In this conversation hosted by Plus61J Media and This Is Not An Ulpan, young Jewish and Palestinian Israelis share their concerns and attitudes towards Election #5.

Oren Ziv, born in 1985, is a long-time photojournalist and founder of the award-winning photojournalist collective, Activestills. Staff reporter at +972 magazine and Local Call. Since 2005, he has been documenting social and political issues in Israel and in the Palestinian territories. His work has been published in the New York Times Lens Blog, Al Jazeera, Vice, Tablet Magazine, and many more. He was awarded the Curators' Choice Prize in the Israeli Local Testimony of the Eretz Israel Museum during 2011-2022. Oren Holds an MA in Research/ Forensic Architecture from Goldsmiths University in London.

Yara Shahine Gharale, born in 1996, from Yaffa (Jaffa) a political and social activist, and a Master's degree student in the Department of General History. Yara is the former head of Jafra Student Movement at Tel Aviv University, and is a member of the "Academia for Equality" organization working to promote democratization, equality and access to higher education in IL.

Yaron Jackson, born in 1997 is an educator, activist and dialogue facilitator. He is also a co-op member of the alternative language school - TINAU. Yaron is an LGBTQ+ local activist He lectures and often speaks about LGBTQ+, Mizrahi and Masorati-Jewish identity, politics and other social issues. Currently studying law in Bar Ilan university and studying jewish studies in Bar Ilan's Torah High Institute.

Michal Grossman, born in 1995, a law & cognitive sciences student in The Hebrew University. In the last few years Michal is involved in several social campaigns and projects, mainly in the field of refugees' rights in Israel. In the last few election cycles Michal worked as a data analyst for Ha'Avoda party.

She focus on matters of human rights, social justice and diversity in her activism. Michal believe in political involvement in all levels: from governmental politics, through NGOs to field work.
