About the Event

Join us for an online discussion led by Yazan Hidmi, a TINAU Arabic teacher specializing in literature and linguistics. Starting with a look at Classical Arabic poetry, we'll be exploring the key themes and forms that shaped poetry across different periods in history, before moving on to more modern developments, with a special focus on Palestinian poetry. We’ll examine how poetry has played a role in shaping Palestinian identity, addressing themes of resistance, resilience, and cultural heritage.

This workshop is a space for anyone with an interest in the Arabic language, poetry, or Palestinian culture. No prior knowledge of Arabic is required; translations will be provided. Come prepared to read, reflect, and engage in enriching discussions.
