Description
This 10-session course delves into the educational landscape within Arab society in Israel, taking an interdisciplinary approach to investigate the historical, cultural, and social influences on educational practices and policies. Throughout the course, students will explore the challenges faced by Arab students and educators, highlighting both the obstacles and the successful initiatives that have emerged in response. A central theme will be the disparities in education between Arab and Jewish citizens in Israel, with particular focus on systemic discrimination in resource distribution, policy, and institutional practices. By examining the historical, social, and political contexts, students will critically analyze the ethical and educational dilemmas that stem from these inequalities. Furthermore, the course will promote the development of alternative perspectives rooted in the principles of equality and social educational justice. Through case studies, academic research, and policy analysis, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and potential solutions for advancing a more equitable education system. Additionally, the course will investigate the role of Arab education in shaping Palestinian identity, offering valuable insights into how education intersects with broader social and political contexts. *** Early Bird Price Start at - 1300 NIS - Until 23/03 Reduced Price Start at - 1400 NIS - Until 13/04 Full Price Start at - 1500 NIS - Until first lesson of the course We have made a small change in our pricing structure and are now offering a sliding scale in order to give you the opportunity to donate 100 or 200 shekels when you buy a course.
